We’ve already seen the Nokia 800, Nokia’s first Windows Phone handset, in a couple of promotional posters that were leaked earlier this month, but thanks to these leaked press images, we get to see the upcoming device in all its beauty.
The images were obtained by Pocketnow, and they probably look very familiar to you. That’s because the Nokia 800 — previously codenamed the Nokia Sea Ray — seems to have exactly the same design as Nokia’s N9, the company’s first and final MeeGo handset. The device also looks familiar to an older iPod nano, which also featured an aluminum unibody design.
Unfortunately the press images don’t give much away at all, but according to previous speculation surrounding the device — and those promotional posters! — we can expect it to feature an 8-megapixel camera and a 3.7-inch display.
I’m a very big fan of the Nokia 800’s very conservative form factor, and if I was on the look out for a Windows Phone handset, this would certainly be a possibility. I think that aluminum unibody design is simplistic and elegant and just what a touchscreen smartphone should look like.
We expect to hear a whole lot more about the Nokia 800, and more Windows Phone-powered Nokia handsets, at Nokia World, which kicks off on October 26.
